So I was hoping my 8th and final week with my coach would leave me going out with a bang! Instead, I’m nursing a sore back.
I’m not sure what happened. But my back is super tight in the muscles going down my spine. They are sorer than just the DOMS sore I’m used to from lifting. (I’ve actually learned to enjoy that type of sore.) And having given birth naturally (no pain medicine) to a 9 pound baby girl, you can imagine my pain tolerance is pretty high.
But this just plain hurts! I’m also not one to take advil, tylenol, etc. I just feel like I don’t want to mask pain, I want to be able to stay in touch with how my body is feeling. If I mask it I may not notice it getting worse/improving. Makes sense, right?
So needless to say— my workouts this week didn’t go as planned. Which bums me out! But I’m trying to keep in it perspective.
I’m actually sitting on the heating pad while I type this and I’ve taken the last two days off from the gym. All in all, I’m so happy with my progress!!! I weighed in at 155 the day I contacted Coach Julie. Today I’m 148. (Much better) I’ve dropped body fat/inches, and I just plain feel better.

Depending on how I feel over the weekend, I’ll try to make up for my missed workouts, but I’m not going to push it. Perhaps we’ll start fresh on Monday.
